Luxury living
Grand homes and grander yachts, the people of Bay Harbor know how to live in style.
In keeping with Northern Michigan’s tradition as a resort destination, Bay Harbor has become one of the country’s premier resort destinations. Located on 1,200 acres along Little Traverse Bay on what used to be a cement and mining operation, the community rests on a transformed shoreline and has become a luxury, four-season resort community. It remains the largest land reclamation in North America.
Bay Harbor Lake is home to one of the country’s most prestigious marinas. The village includes boutiques, restaurants and a five-star hotel. There are nature trails, 70 acres of parks and golf courses all open to the public. Bay Harbor has been called “The Pebble Beach of the Midwest” by Golf Digest and its lifestyle includes the marina, Yacht Club, Equestrian Club, Swim and Fitness Club and Golf Club.
While many of the residential areas of Bay Harbor remain private, the village is open to the public and hosts many events throughout the year like the vintage car and boat festival, farmers markets, art fair, yard sale and fishing tournament.
The Bay Harbor Foundation was created in 2003 and since its inception has donated nearly $700,000 to local charities like the Manna Food Project and Hospice of Little Traverse Bay. Events include the Bay Harbor Chili Cook-Off, Bay Harbor Yard Sale, Vintage Car and Boat Festival, a golf tournament, home tour and scholarship program.
